La Brace is a restaurant in Valtellina that serves traditional local food: pizzoccheri, sciatt and other specialities of the Sondrio province. To prepare top-quality dishes, our chefs only use local ingredients, such as milk, uova di selva (woodland free-range eggs), Valmasino trout bred in spring water, bresaola, wine and cheese, and two Slow Food presidia: Bitto "Storico Ribelle" and "El furmai del Fen", two types of cheese of the Alpine valleys.
Our speciality: grilled meat
Our cuisine is famous for grilled meat. In fact, our business identifies in whole with it. Over the years, we have put all our dedication and passion for the preparation of this dish. We only use top-quality meat provided by our trusted butcher. We make it age in cells at consistent temperature and humidity for 40 days. Then we grill it only on vegetable charcoal. We bet you've never tasted anything as good before!
Homemade and hand-made food
At La Brace restaurant, we stille cook as our grandparents used to, mixing our history and tradition with a pinch of innovation. Everything we prepare is homemade following the original recipes, starting from the raw materials to obtain authentic and healthy flavours. At out table, you'll only eat artisanal and local dishes, including morning-kneaded bread, freshly baked products and fresh homemade pasta.
A rustic setting for your lunches, dinners and banquets
The restaurant includes 7 halls of different dimensions for your family lunches, romantic dinners for two, celebrations and receptions, parties and special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, wedding, etc.).
We can arrange our space for a romantic dinner for two or a banquet with hundreds of guest. We can also create customised menus. The stone wall and the old farmers' utensils create a century-old atmosphere to make you experience the same authenticity of our dishes.
The room next to the bar is cozy and convivial. This is where the old 30sq.m tavern was located. You can book this room for lunches or dinners with up to 20-30 guests.
It's the perfect place where to celebrate you moments of happiness with your family and friends. They will felle warm and cozy near the fireplace, while enjoying the food prepared with natural ingredients and the best wine of the Valtellina tradition.

An old 200-hectolitre barrel from Cantina Nino Negri has been transformed into an exclusive room for small groups with up to 7 people.
The wood that once held the Sforzato wine during its fermentation still features potassium bitartrate crystals deposited over time. This makes this setting as unique as ever for your romantic candlelight dinners, especially if enjoyed with excellent wine. It will be like dining among the stars in the firmament.
The old cellar of great-great-grandfather Angelo, later transformed into a smokehouse, has become a romantic and private room for dinners for 2 to 5 people.
Next to the original 1820 icehouse, this vaulted stone room still treasures the same charm enhanced by the fireplace. It will be like going back in time and dine as our ancestors used to a century ago.
The Stalletta room has a unique history. It was initially a corridor that connected the internal courtyard with the cellar and the icehouse. Then it was transformed into the stable for the family's donkey.
Now, this wood and stone room overlooking the swallows garden is the perfect location for your private lunches or dinners for 3-4 people.
Like all the other rooms of the restaurant, even the Taverna had a different purpose in the old days: in fact, it was the grandfather's goat barn.
The original stone vaults, together with the modern sofas, make the room perfect for 15-20 people, who want to enjoy their Sunday lunches, celebrate their birthday with their friends and family, or hold their private business meetings.
